Hi followers,

We are Saegis Campus BIT2 Students. This blog we discuss about the new trend of data communication and network. So now a day data communication and network engineering most development and updatable subject. It always and day today change as the fast away. 5G and Wi-Fi6 technology can be introduce as another step in the success of Data Communication & Networking.

Digital transformation may look different from one industry to the next, but it's safe to say some of the biggest innovations will come from the growth of the Internet of Things and mobile Edge computing .

As everyday objects become internet-enabled, people will constantly be on the move and using mobile applications. A person might use Wi-Fi 6 as they start work at their desk in the morning, for instance, and use 5G when they move outdoors for field service work.

Industry standards organizations such as the 3rd Generation Partnership Project are working to expand 5G access to fixed and non-terrestrial environments, which could pave the way for application convergence. In the meantime, businesses should talk to partners they can trust to understand their needs today and make use of both 5G and Wi-Fi 6.

This blog main objective in to introduce and get information about the 5G and Wi-Fi6 technology

Introduction

What is 5G?

5G  is the following on previous 2G, 3G & 4G generation. 5G is the following on previous 2G, 3G & 4G generation. Its highest speed and greater capacity than 4G like. 5G use of artificial intelligent internet of things in the every day life.

The 5G is now being installed and deployment worldwide, creating opportunities for people business & society. The new network generation is more than just an update cellular network it is part of a technologically revolution working towards a brighter and more sustainable.

This is most important to note because there a limit to other devices speed & capabilities slow down. 5G fixes this problem by creating a higher capacity for data allowing more devices to connect simultaneously with efficient connectivity & high speeds.

5G provide flexible high speed & low latency network. Its enable the mass use of automation & collaboration technology on cloud in our daily lives.

What is Wi-Fi6?

Wi-Fi6 is the most reliable fasters and lathers version in the technologically market. It is provide 4X higher capacity and 75% lower latency than previous Wi-Fi version.  Wi-Fi6 has better performance in crowded areas where the many peoples use Wi-Fi devices. Wi-Fi 6 also enables better battery life. In the past, being connected to a Wi-Fi signal often drained your device’s battery power.

Wi-Fi6 also enabling innovation.  Wi-Fi6 also it has the Nemours technical features such as the it increased the speed, reliability and the accessibility.  Wi- Fi6 technology get to the wireless application like as the 3D diagnostics, 4K video streaming, Virtual Reality  and video Conferencing. Wi-Fi6 technology is being implement in many industry across the world and a high speed, low latency Internet connection is the key to enabling efficient technology performance and future innovation.

History of Cellular & Wi-Fi

Cellular History

The timeline and history from 1G to 5G took just over 40 years since the introduction of wireless cellular technology. And a lot has changed since then.

Ø Cell phones have become smaller.

Ø Download speeds have become faster.

Ø Text messaging has come (and almost gone).

Ø Surfing the internet with phones became common.

Ø The steam of social media posting continues.

Ø  And apparently, there’s an app for nearly everything now.

1G Technology

In 1979 Japaneese are launched by first generation network. Since then the mobile industry has had several subsequence cellular generation that having significantly advance the technology world.

 2GTechnology

Launched in 2001, this cellular generation feature international roaming & faster data transferring speed. This enable video streaming, video chatting, email and most notably, support Internet surfing which was revolutionary at the time. 2G network also allowed us to transfer data bits from one phone to another. 2G provide encrypted calls and its improved call sounds quality reducing static & cracking noises rather than 1G network technology.

3G Technology

3G Technology focused on the Standardize vendors network protocols. Compared with 2G, 3G had a four time the data transferring capabilities. The reason of innovate 3G network is, surf the internet and stream music on mobile. Although 2G did offer same features they weren’t as advanced as what 3G had in term of download speed.

4G Technology

Norway Nationalities are introduces in this 4G network. Starting at a minimum of 12.5 Mbps, 4G provide high-quality video chat, fast mobile web access, HD videos & online gaming.

However, when 4G first started, it wasn’t 4G. When the ITU-R set the required minimum speeds for 4G (12.5 Mbps), it wasn’t attainable at the time. In response to the amount of money that tech manufacturers were putting into achieving this goal, the ITU-R decided that LTE (Long-term evolution) could be labelled as 4G. But only if it provided a significant improvement over 3G.

In short, when 4G first came out, what you were seeing was 3.9G or 3.95G instead. Today, that’s not an issue, though.

Wi-Fi History

Wi - Fi is first appeared in the consumer landscape  in 1997 with the creation of Institute of Electrical & Electronic Engineers Standards Committee. IEEE a set of standards that define communication for wireless local area network essential the first generation of Wi-Fi. This Following picture show Wi-Fi History.

Early 2000's

The first generation of Wi-Fi products entered the market with maximum data rate of 11 megabits per second, operating in the 2.4 GHz band.

2009

The arrive of Wi-Fi4 was more reliable & ran the faster speeds wit the maximum data rate. it allowed for an increase in the data without need for higher bandwidth.

2014

The arrival of Wi-Fi was four times speed of Wi-Fi4 with a maximum data rate of 6.93 gigabits per seconds and cloud transfer data quick through more antennas.

2020

The newest generation of Wi-Fi6 arrived in the market main feature included better performance. Wi-Fi6 run at maximum data rate of 9 gigabits per second and operate on  both the 2.4 GHz & 5GHz band width.

5G vs Wi-Fi6 Benefits & Setbacks

5G vs Wi-Fi6:What are the differences?

01.Technology Type

The many of the difference we firstly focus on the technology type. Also 5G cellular technology and the Wi-Fi6 is the WLAN technology. WLAN technology is a wireless local area network technology that uses OFDM as the multiple access scheme. The maximum of communication distance is 100 meters.
The technology types also differ term activities. For Wi-Fi organize use router and access point from services provide for internet connectivity and cellular (5G) cell towers and small cell provide connectivity to connect devices.

02.Licensing

Cellular technology is carried based which is also true 5G technology. That means operators exclusive operate cellular network on licensed spectrum band, which are meant to prevent interference between connected devices. There also on the other side Wi-Fi operator in unlicensed band that don't required extra planning in development avoid interface.

03.Authentication

While Wi-Fi technology unlicensed band. Its don't require permission to use access to the Wi-Fi network itself does. Wi-Fi6 introduce new authentication type it called "Simultaneous Authentication of Equal " for added protection against bad actors.
As well as the cellular access this is simple and easy for connected devices. Because cellular network don't have the same authentication requirements as Wi-Fi networks.

04.Network Security

5G will introduce several security concept including security anchor functions, subscription permanent identifier & concealed identifier. These function can enable seamless & secure device the confirm the subscribers continue presence & internet to be authenticate during an authenticated during an extended usage session as a connected device as a connected device travels between network which former cellular generation couldn't guarantee.
But Wi-Fi protected Access3 will support Wi-Fi6 security which like 5G's security concept aims bolster authentication security & encryptions.

05.Use Cases

Traditionally Wi-Fi is better suite to indoor wireless coverage and Wi-Fi6 will also maintain it in future. Other Wi-Fi6  use cases include increase support for IOT connected devices & high density wireless service for location such as stadium and another venues.

As for the 5G is better suited to outdoor use case such as the vehicle supports. In addition 5G also aims to the support mobile backhaul & fixed wireless access use case.

5G Features & Wi-Fi6 Features

5G Features

01.Low to Zero Latency

5G has near-Zero latency cutting 4G's milliseconds latency into millisecond. Sure a quick loading time of website is nice but connected autonomous vehicle remote & responsive virtual reality will be winner here.

02.Increase Connection Density

4G has the capacity to support only 2000 devices connected within the 0.38 milers but in the same space 5G can take the number of devices up to 1milion.

03.Improved Battery Life

Reduce latency & increased speed are very likely to result in less battery consumption. That also 5G will increase the battery life of smartphones & other IOT device up 10 times more.

04.Enhance Precision

5G is the latest radio technology that use shorter wavelength and higher radio frequencies. Therefore it run with much improved precision capabilities than 4G & is tremendously for GPS- enable devices.

05.New Use Case

The exclusive features of 5G technology including exceptionally bandwidth near-Zero latency & augmented connection density have open up the window to exciting new use cases that where not possible at all in the age of 4G such as the, Cloud AR/VR, Industrial IOT, Connected Machinery Control & Wireless e-Health.

Wi-Fi6 Features

01.The MU-MIMO Technology (Multi user- Multiple Input & Multiple Out Put)

This Wi-Fi6 technology already used on large of current router will be generalized. It allowed information to be sent to several devices at the same time rather than to each device one after the other. So far capable of communicating with 4 devices at a time Wi-Fi6  will allow communication to 8 devices at the same time.

02.OFDMA (Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiple Access)

This Wi-Fi6 technology also relies on OFDMA which not only speed up data transfer but also reduces latency. This technology allows data to be transmitted to several devices in single transmission. Each transmission will be therefore optimized to contain a maximum of information per shipment.

03.TWT(Target Wake-Up Time)

In is an intelligent standby mode to reduce the energy consumption of the access point but also to limit interface with nearby devices.

5G, Wi-Fi6 as a complements rather than competitors

Despite the difference between Wi-Fi6 vs 5G many expert tout potential benefit from a partnership between the two technologies. Business should focus on more on how Wi-Fi6 & 5G cooperate rather than which technology is better according to Craig Mathias a principle with FairPoint group. More importantly user likely wont care which technology they use as long as their connection is good.

Interoperability between Wi-Fi6 & 5G network could provide seamless connectivity for users as they move between network. Connected devices such as business handsets may be able to support both technology Mathias predicated although this level of cooperation is year away from reality.

Together Wi-Fi6 & 5G can enable the success of networking innovation such as a IOT growth end edge computing capability. Together Wi-Fi6 & 5G can also better support remote workforces & bolster overall network connectivity with speed reliability & flexibility.
